A survey by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation reveals that a significant number of American consumers, especially high-income earners, are embracing dried seaweed as a health food. The survey, which included 54.0% of US consumers who have tried dried seaweed, highlighted its appeal for its immune boosting properties and as a low-cost cooking ingredient. The purchase decision is heavily influenced by price and taste, with health benefits also playing a role. The survey also indicated that most consumers become aware of the product through the internet and are more likely to purchase it for snacking or cooking purposes. Additionally, it was found that Korean-sourced dried seaweed is a favorite among consumers, particularly those in their 40s, and that a majority would willingly purchase the product due to its perceived health benefits and reasonable pricing.
