In February, Turkey experienced a significant decrease in milk production by 10.5%, totaling 118,787 tons, due to rising costs leading to an exit of producers and the slaughter of dairy cows. Commercial dairy enterprises also reported a 5.7% drop in cow's milk collection to 789,180 tons. Despite these challenges, there was a notable increase in the production of butter, ayran, yogurt, and cow cheese in comparison to the previous year. However, butter production saw a decrease of 8.3% and drinking milk production experienced an 8% decrease in the early months of 2022 compared to the same period in the previous year.
