[Agricultural, Fisheries, and Livestock Newspaper=Reporter Park Se-jun] The Forest Disaster Prediction and Analysis Center of the National Institute of Forest Science reported that the wildfire risk index for most regions across the country remains at the 'somewhat high' level, and it is expected that areas with a 'high' level will gradually increase. Therefore, the center urged special attention to fire management. The reason for the heightened risk of autumn wildfires is due to the lack of rainfall and persistently low humidity. An analysis of the number of days without rain in November over the past 10 years showed that the average number of wildfires per day is 1.5 cases when there is no rain for three days, 1.6 cases for four days, and 2.3 cases for five days, indicating a clear correlation between the number of days without rain and the occurrence of wildfires.
