In connection with the active diversification of sowing areas and high yields of non-grain crops, Kazakhstan has emerged with a need to modernize its storage infrastructure. Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparbayev announced the development of a special concessional lending program at a series of final government press conferences. As clarified by the Ministry of Agriculture, the yield of oilseed crops in 2025 reached 4.8 million tons, including 2.3 million tons of sunflower, 1.4 million tons of flax, and 522 thousand tons of rapeseed. In addition, more than 1.1 million tons of legumes were harvested (including 842 thousand tons of lentils, 222 thousand tons of peas, and 22 thousand tons of chickpeas). The yield of cotton reached 430 thousand tons, which was the highest figure in 18 years. "The insufficiency of storage infrastructure is currently a restraining factor. In this regard, a concessional lending program for the expansion and modernization of elevators is being developed, with the launch planned for the first half of 2026," declared the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
