In 2023, the Dutch dairy industry exported dairy products worth approximately €3 billion to Germany, contributing to a total export value of €10 billion. According to Joep Rats, director of the Dutch Dairy Organization (NZO), 75% of Dutch dairy is sold within the Netherlands and Europe, with the remaining quarter largely exported to China, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The dairy sector plays a significant role in the Netherlands' economy, accounting for 7% of the national trade surplus.
