Egypt expectedly set a new record for the export of frozen strawberries to China

Egypt continues to strengthen its position in the imported frozen strawberry market in China, EastFruit reports. Egyptian exports to the Chinese market for January-November 2023 have already exceeded the volume of supplies for the entire previous calendar year, and Egypt has held the leading role in the supply of frozen strawberries in this direction for the fifth year in a row. “Just six years ago, China was the fourth largest exporter of frozen strawberries in the world and, by the way, exported more of them than Egypt. Since then, the situation has changed dramatically, and already last year, Egyptian exports were several times higher than Chinese ones. Moreover, the import and export figures for frozen strawberries in China are almost equal,” comments Evgeniy Kuzin, fruit and vegetable market analyst at the EastFruit project.
