The International Olive Council reports a 9.7% increase in global table olive imports from September 2023 to August 2024, totaling 488,872 tons. The United States leads with a slight decrease at 156,309 tons, followed by Brazil, Egypt, Mexico, and Argentina, which experienced significant increases. On the other hand, Spain, Peru, Portugal, and Turkey saw decreases. Additionally, world olive oil imports reached 732,386 tonnes, marking a 1.4% increase from the previous campaign, although Chinese and Japanese imports significantly dropped. Canada's imports increased by 3.9%. Extra-EU olive oil exports from the EU had a unit value of €915 per 100 kg in August, showing a notable increase from the previous campaign but a slight decrease from the previous month.
