Global: Egypt increases its imports of table olives by 118%

Olimerca.- Global imports of table olives have registered a total volume of 488,872 tons, which represents an increase of 9.7% between September 2023 and August 2024, compared to the same period of the previous campaign. This is highlighted by the latest data from the International Olive Council. The United States is the country that imports the most, with a total of 156,309 tons, although it registers a decrease of 4.5% compared to the previous campaign. Brazil follows with 127,999 tons, increasing its imported volume by 4% compared to the previous campaign. Other countries that have seen a significant increase in their olive imports, as we can see in the table below, are Egypt, with 110,000 tonnes, 118.7% more than the previous campaign, Mexico with 11,416 tonnes (+61.5%), or Argentina with 93,780 tonnes (+52.8%).
