Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana, has urged the public to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its candidate, John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming general elections. While addressing a campaign rally in Saboba, Bawumia accused the NDC of overlooking the development needs of the five northern regions during its previous tenure and mishandling funds intended for development. He specifically criticized the NDC's management of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), a program aimed at northern development, which he claimed resulted in the misuse of funds for unproductive initiatives, including a guinea fowl farming project. Bawumia's criticisms were directed at Mahama's inability to deliver visible development projects in the region, referencing the guinea fowl project and the NDC's implausible explanation that the birds had flown to Burkina Faso.
