Women are the heart of Vietnam's agriculture On October 23-24, in celebration of Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20, Syngenta Vietnam Co., Ltd. organized the seminar "Empowering Vietnamese Rural Women" for 140 exemplary female farmers from the Mekong Delta region with the message "Sow love - Reap success" held in Can Tho City. The event was an occasion to honor the role of women in sustainable agricultural development, and to affirm Syngenta's commitment to empowering, enhancing the capacity, and improving the lives of Vietnamese rural women. According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, women account for nearly 50% of the agricultural workforce, equivalent to over 12 million people. In rural areas, nearly 63% of female labor is still engaged in agriculture. They are not only laborers but also household economic managers, indigenous knowledge keepers, nurturers of future generations, and cultural connectors of the rural community.
