The UPA-COAG Alliance has expressed serious concerns about the animal welfare measures proposed by the European Union, stating that they will have significant negative consequences for the livestock sector, particularly in poultry production. They argue that the implementation of these measures would require substantial investments and pose risks to the pig, poultry, and rabbit farming sectors. The Alliance also warns about unfair competition and the potential impact on the economy of ranchers and consumers, as well as the closure of small and medium-sized businesses in rural areas, increased imports, and higher meat prices for consumers.
