The Omelette project, involving 11 institutions and companies from five European countries, aims to promote sustainable and resilient egg production in North-West Europe. Funded by the Interreg North-West Europe, the project will focus on improving hen longevity, animal health and welfare, egg quality, and economic viability. It will also work towards bridging the gap between egg producers and consumers. The project will use smart digitalisation to improve individual behavioural monitoring and flock follow-up, and will provide targeted training and communication to the laying hen sector, local authorities, and consumers.
