Experts told RG about the prospects for the development of nut farming in Russia

“The most common types of nuts grown in the Russian Federation are walnuts and hazelnuts. Also in our country it is possible to grow such “types” of nuts as chestnuts, peanuts and pine nuts,” said a senior lecturer at the agrobiotechnology department in an interview with RG RUDN University Valeria Gresis. At the same time, pine nuts are practically the only ones that Russia produces in industrial quantities. Its harvesting takes place mainly in Siberian forests. The main regions of nut production are the Krasnodar Territory, the Stavropol Territory, the Republic of Crimea, and the North Caucasus.
