Mozambique: Export of cashew nuts earns the country 220 million dollars

The director of the research area at the Almond Institute of Mozambique, Américo Wassiquete, said on Friday, November 10, during the first investment forum in Niassa, that the country had achieved an income of 220 million dollars in the last five years, in the export of cashew nuts. According to news from Rádio Moçambique, broadcast on Saturday, November 11, during this period, Mozambique exported 240 thousand tons of cashew nuts to the international market, and to date it is the first almond whose export brings the most foreign currency to the country. Speaking about the role of the Almond Institute in promoting the cultivation of macadamia and other almonds, Américo Wassiquete said that after cashew nuts, macadamia occupies a significant place in the production of oilseeds in Mozambique.
