Shipments to Hong Kong totaled $177,000,000 between January and September of this year, reflecting a decline of -26.3% compared to the same period of 2024 ($240,000,000). Therefore, Peruvian businessmen are eagerly awaiting the implementation of the bilateral trade agreement in order to recover the growth path, reported the Association of Exporters (ADEX). The signing of the agreement took place in November 2024 and its effective implementation will bring about the elimination of tariffs and the possibility of exporting services without the need for a physical presence in its territory. This will benefit sectors such as technology, consulting, and software development, as well as stimulate Hong Kong investment in the country, especially in the financial sector, thereby strengthening economic integration.
