Exports of fresh produce grow by 28%

Wholesale tomato prices recorded a drop in the first 15 days of September, maintaining the behavior observed in August, according to the 9th Bulletin of the Brazilian Program for the Modernization of the Horticultural Market (Prohort), released this Tuesday (23) by the National Supply Company (Conab). According to the analysis, "the quotations of the product in August, in the weighted average, were 19.86% lower than those practiced in July," even with the supply lower than the previous month. In addition to tomatoes, other horticultural products also recorded a reduction in prices. The onion showed a 10.5% drop in the weighted average, influenced by supply and lower demand, with the largest variation recorded in the Ceasa de Vitória. For the potato, the return was 6.55% compared to July, representing a difference of 53.62% when compared to the same period in 2024.
