From January 1 to August 8, 2021, Russia experienced a notable increase in the export of meat and meat products, with a total of 351.2 thousand tons sent abroad, which is 3% more than the previous year. This includes a 2.6-fold increase in beef exports, primarily to China, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan, and a 27% rise in pork exports, mainly to Vietnam, Ukraine, and Belarus. Additionally, horse meat exports saw a significant increase, with purchases made by Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Despite these increases, Russia's imports of certain meat products, such as beef, horse meat, and mutton, have decreased.
