Starting June 5, Ukraine may halt the export of flour to the European Union due to export limitations on the product being equivalent to wheat, with only 1 million tons allowed per month. Despite efforts to remove flour from this restriction, the EU has not made any changes. This is particularly challenging for Ukrainian flour milling and grain processing businesses, which rely heavily on the EU market, with five out of the top ten companies depending on it for over 70% of their exports. These businesses have long-term contracts with EU partners and have invested significantly in modernization since the start of the war.
