The National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa), together with other public agencies of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), agreed on phytosanitary measures to prevent the entry of the red palm weevil from Uruguay. These actions were carried out to strengthen the prevention of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus, which is currently absent in Argentina but is out of control in the eastern band.
