It is estimated that global meat production will reach 384 million tons (carcass weight equivalent) in 2025, an increase of 1.4% compared to 2024. This increase is mainly due to higher poultry production, along with increased pork production and a moderate growth in sheep meat production, partially offset by a decline in beef production. Global poultry meat production is expected to increase due to the relatively lower feed costs and strong demand driven by affordability. Despite continuous outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in major producing regions, the global impact on broiler meat production has been limited. Global pork production is expected to grow, driven by increased productivity and improved efficiency in herd management.
