As of May 9, 2025, Ukrainian farmers have successfully sown 4.32 million hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops, representing 76% of the targeted area. The sowing includes significant areas dedicated to corn, barley, spring wheat, peas, oats, buckwheat, and millet. Leading regions in sowing efforts include Poltava, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy. The country also plans to cultivate 5.2 million hectares of industrial crops such as sunflowers, soybeans, and sugar beet, with Dnipropetrovsk region leading in sunflower sowing. The total area to be sown with spring grain and leguminous crops for 2025 is projected to be around 5.7 million hectares, consistent with the previous year, but with a notable increase in spring wheat allocation to 227.5 thousand hectares.
