A recent survey conducted by Farsul, CNA, and Esalq-Cepea as part of the Campo Futuro program, covering May 29 to June 2, gathered data on production costs for soybean, corn, wheat, and rice crops in Carazinho, Cruz Alta, Tupanciretã, Uruguaiana, Bagé, and Camaquã. The survey highlighted tight margins for rural producers, especially due to drought and significant increases in the cost of essential inputs like fertilizers and herbicides. Despite some record harvests, as in the case of wheat in Carazinho and Cruz Alta, the overall financial strain resulting from high costs and falling crop prices has made this decade's harvest the most economically challenging.
