This summer, the government temporarily suspended export duties on sunflower oil and meal, which, according to Mikhail Maltsev, the head of the Oil and Fat Union, supported the industry at a critical moment. He said this during the VII Strategic Session of the Federal Center "Agroexport". "We believe that this season we need to continue optimizing this mechanism, again taking into account the compressed margin factor," Maltsev noted.
In his opinion, optimization will allow processors and growers to plan their business, and in this case, the industry will be able to process all oilseed raw materials. "We count on a balanced, consistent position from our regulators, just as it was in previous years," Maltsev added. According to him, realizing the entire export potential is feasible, but it requires state assistance.
Exports of oil and fat products in 2025 increased by 3% in monetary terms. The main driver of growth was rapeseed oil (plus 42%).
