Russia's wheat and meslin exports saw a decrease of 2.9% in the first nine months of 2021 compared to the previous year, totaling 23.924 million tons. Despite the decrease, the revenue from these exports increased by 21.4% to $6.18 billion. Wheat exports in September were down by 12.3% compared to August.
Vegetable oil exports also saw a decrease of 15.1% in the first nine months of 2021, but the revenue from these exports increased by 50% to $3.039 billion.
Russia imported 25.1% more wheat in the first nine months of 2021 compared to the previous year, and barley imports decreased by 75.3%. Corn imports also decreased by 29.7%, and vegetable oil imports increased by 23%.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture predicts that grain exports for the 2020-2021 agricultural year could reach 49 million tons, with wheat supplies potentially reaching 37.6 million tons. Grain exports for the 2021-2022 agricultural year are estimated to be between 45-48 million tons.
