Vietnam has started exporting passion fruit to the European Union under the Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), with a shipment of 100 tons to the Netherlands by Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company (DOVECO). This is part of a significant increase in the export of around 40 types of Vietnamese vegetables and fruits to 60 countries and territories, with the EU eliminating 94% of the total 547 tax lines of these products. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has urged businesses to capitalize on the EVFTA opportunities to improve quality and traceability. DOVECO, which exports over half of its total export value as passion fruit products, is a example of this. Meanwhile, Vinh Hiep Co., Ltd. has started exporting green coffee beans to Germany and Belgium under the EVFTA, taking advantage of the 0% tax rate on all coffee products and the EU's commitment to protect geographical indications.
