Brazilian fish farming exports saw a 100% increase in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period in the previous year, reaching US$ 14.3 million and 4,931 tons. This growth is attributed to the sale of fish products with higher added value, such as frozen fillets, which increased by over 500% in value and tons. Factors such as reduced bureaucracy, management evolution, genetic improvement, and credit growth for the activity also contributed to the growth. The United States, Canada, and Libya were the main destinations, with tilapia being the most exported fish species, accounting for 98% of total revenue.
