Egypt has achieved 85% self-sufficiency in fish production. The prices vary depending on the type and the market. The majority of Egypt's fish production comes from fish farming, accounting for 79.7% of the total production. Other sources include lakes, marine water, fresh water, and rice fields. In 2019, Egypt exported approximately 35 thousand tons of fish.
