From January to September 2024, Peruvian fishery product exports saw a significant increase of 29.9%, reaching a value of 3,185.7 million dollars, compared to the same period of the previous year. This growth is primarily due to higher demand for fishmeal, fish oil, canned products, and resources like parrotfish, horse mackerel, anchovy, and tuna. Peru's main fishery product markets include China, the United States, Spain, Chile, Japan, and South Korea, which accounted for 73.4% of the total exports. The Ministry of Production (Produce) has highlighted the country's leading role in the global fishing market and its commitment to sustainability and quality in export products.
