Russian fisheries are seeking to eliminate export exchange rates for certain fish products, including pollock, due to a significant market downturn. The price of Russian fillet has dropped by 36% since December 2022, and the exclusion of pollock fillets from the non-tariff EU quota system has led to a 13.7% import duty, increasing costs for exporters. The Russian government is planning to adjust Resolution No. 1538 to increase the competitiveness of Russian fish products globally, focusing on fish types currently experiencing significant losses. The aim is to develop alternative sales markets without harming the domestic market.
