A recent report by the National Fishing Office of Morocco highlights a notable 26% increase in the discharged quantities of marketed products from coastal and traditional fishing, reaching 1,089,969 tons by the end of September 2022. The total value of these discharged products surpassed 7.45 billion dirhams, marking a 9% increase from the previous year. The report also indicates a decline in the discharge of certain species such as algae, oysters, mollusks, and white fish, while crustaceans and pelagic fish saw significant increases. The unloading of these products at Mediterranean ports experienced a 10% decrease, but there was a 27% rise in unloading at Atlantic Ocean ports, contributing to an 11% increase in value.
