Five Russian regions have been internationally recognized as free from foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) due to vaccination, as confirmed by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) at its 90th General Session. The regions include the Amur Region, Khabarovsk, Primorsky and Trans-Baikal Territories, and the Jewish Autonomous Region. To maintain this status, strict requirements for the movement of susceptible animals and products must be met. Additionally, Russia confirmed the freedom from small ruminant distemper, contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, and bovine spongiform encephalopathy at the same event.
