Within the framework of the extraordinary and unfavorable climatic conditions affecting various regions of the country, the National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) has established a series of measures to support livestock producers and ensure the continuity of the national sanitary system, ahead of the start of the second vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease, scheduled for October 13. As a result of the heavy rains and flooding, producers who must apply the vaccination in this second period and are located in affected districts or departments will be authorized to request Senasa to postpone the closure of the campaign, as well as the movement of animals without the mandatory prior vaccination, provided that it is completed once the livestock arrives at its destination establishment.
