Bulgaria is set to implement a measure to support European quality schemes for the first time, according to Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Georgi Sabev. The initiative, to be implemented in the next programming period, aims to improve the visibility of products from specific regions and increase demand and income for farmers. The webinar also highlighted Bulgarian products with protected names, such as Bulgarian yoghurt and white brined cheese, and those under protection process, including Trojan sausage and Strandzha herbal tea. Other products like Kurtov pink tomato, Smilyan beans, reindeer ham, and various types of honey were also discussed for their potential for protection.
