In the first half of 2021, Iran's foreign trade experienced a significant increase, with a growth in exports reaching $45 billion, a 47% increase from the previous year, and the exchange of 79 million tons of goods. The country's imports also saw a rise, with a 15% increase in weight and a 37% increase in value, totaling 19 million tons and worth $23 billion. The imports included essential goods and production line machinery, which led to a negative trade balance in September due to a record customs clearance of six billion and 500 million dollars. The transit of goods through Iran also increased by 88% compared to the same period last year.
