From Ñuble to the world: SAG inspects lilium bulbs for the Japanese market

21 lots of lilium bulbs (Lilium sp.) corresponding to almost 19 hectares, were jointly inspected by the Agricultural and Livestock Service and the inspector of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) as part of the certification program for Silvoagricultural Export Products, corresponding to the 2024-2025 season. The inspection took place in the commune of Bulnes, in the most northern plantation in the country, since the crop requires cold hours for its production that cannot be obtained further north. The inspection took place on the San Luis and San Manuel de Bulnes farms, belonging to the Mountain Bulbs company, and allowed the sanitary condition to be certified for exporting these bulbs to the Japanese market, guaranteeing that local production complies with the phytosanitary requirements of the destination country.
