In March, the average import price of frozen mackerel in South Korea saw a 5% increase to $2.23 per kilogram, up from $2.12 in the same period of 2023. The majority of these imports were from Norway, which accounted for 89.6% of the total at 14,746 tons, with a minor price increase from $2.19 to $2.22 per kilogram. Additionally, China and the Netherlands contributed to the imports, with China supplying 1,153 tons at a price of $2.31 per kilogram and the Netherlands 500 tons at $2.11 per kilogram, indicating a diverse source of imports but with a clear dominance by Norwegian frozen mackerel in the South Korean market.
