The article highlights the significant challenge faced by Vietnamese farmers due to a sharp decrease in the prices of various fruits and vegetables, including avocados and mangoes, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and over-cultivation. This situation, coupled with a surge in fruit cultivation, particularly avocados and durians, due to the devaluation of pepper, has led to an oversupply and a significant drop in export activities. As a result, farmers are facing financial losses and struggling to cover their costs. To mitigate these issues, the article suggests the need for a strategic approach to fruit cultivation, including creating specialized growing areas, encouraging linked production, and offering support to farmers. The government is urged to develop a plan focusing on sustainable and profitable cultivation to address the current challenges and prevent future losses.
