From January to July of this year, Peru's fruit and vegetable exports saw a significant increase, reaching a value of over 2,801 million dollars, a 26% rise from the previous year. The country's fruit exports, including avocado and grapes, increased by 43% and 33% respectively, with the United States and the Netherlands being the leading importers. Vegetable exports also saw a growth of 15.1%, with the United States as the top buyer. Adex, the export union, is advocating for measures to strengthen the productive chains and maintain Peru's reliable supplier status. The Virtual Food Expo 2021, to be held from September 30 to October 8, will be supported by several ministries and the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú), aiming to identify buyers and provide information on various food products and safety regulations.
