The Agricultural Conjuncture Bulletin released this Thursday (6) by the Rural Economy Department (Deral), from the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), indicates that only seven of the 399 municipalities in Paraná did not register commercial fruit cultivation in 2024. According to Deral analysts, the data shows that fruit farming "is atomised and incorporated into the rural environment in all corners of the state". The survey points to Paranavaí, Carlópolis, Alto Paraná, Guaratuba, and Cerro Azul as the main fruit-growing hubs in Paraná. Together, these municipalities accounted for 15.7 thousand hectares of harvested area, a volume of 500.3 thousand tons, and R$ 1 billion in Gross Production Value (GPV). According to the bulletin, they concentrated "29.2% of the area, 36.9% of the production, and 25.5% of the GPV" of the sector in 2024, when the state's fruit farming totaled 53.8 thousand hectares, 1.3 million tons, and R$ 3.9 billion.
