Galicia, Spain's leading region in chestnut promotion, is receiving support from the Director General of Forest Planning and Management, José Luis Chan, who advocates for active forest management to combat climate change. The Xunta's commitment to chestnuts includes various initiatives, such as the recovery of chestnut plantations and the registration of forestry groups for joint grove management. A total investment of 11.5 million euros by the Galician Government for the Limia Strategic Plan from 2020 to 2024 aims to establish a sustainable agricultural sector and decrease environmental pollution through measures like the creation of wells for groundwater collection and investments in rural road infrastructure.
