Turkey: Abundance of garfish in the Black Sea

Following the end of the fishing ban at sea on September 1, boats that set out to sea are experiencing the most fruitful fishing season of recent years. Fishermen who started the season with bonito fishing, in addition to bonito, also caught horse mackerel and a little anchovy, while garfish (Sargan) that are caught in the nets of fishermen have started to decorate the stalls. While bonito is mostly on the stalls at Trabzon Fish Market these days, the abundance of other fish varieties is also striking. Among the fish varieties, garfish, which has been caught very rarely in recent years, has started to be seen abundantly on the stalls, and its price per kilo varies between 200-300 TL.
