Global meat production is expected to rise by 12% to 388 million tonnes by 2033, driven primarily by increases in poultry and pork production. Poultry output will grow from 141.3 million tonnes in 2024 to around 160 million tonnes, while pork will reach 131.1 million tonnes, with significant contributions from Asia. Beef production will increase to 81.2 million tonnes due to advancements in animal genetics and management, and sheep meat will see a modest rise to 19.3 million tonnes. Meat exports are projected to surpass 40 million tonnes, led by the United States and Brazil, with Africa accounting for 73% of the increase in imports due to rising demand.
