In the first quarter of 2023, citrus fruit exports saw a significant increase of 12.22%, totaling 603,488 tons and generating revenue of $351.855 million. The exports were led by mandarin, lemon, grapefruit, and orange, with Russia being the top importer followed by Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria. Despite a 24% decrease in volume, the value increased by 12%. The increase in exports was noted despite production decreases and challenges such as the Russian-Ukrainian war and a major earthquake, with expectations for further increases in the coming period.
