The Russian Federation has achieved a record grain export of 62.8 million tons in the 11-month period from July 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024, marking an 8% increase compared to the previous season, with the total export potential for the 2023/2024 agricultural year set at 67 million tons. Despite this, the export volume in May saw a decrease of 20.4% from the previous year, with significant reductions in wheat, barley, and corn shipments. The main destinations for these exports included Egypt, Türkiye, Yemen, Kenya, and Bangladesh, with Egypt and Türkiye experiencing the most significant drops in purchases. The price of wheat on the market has experienced a notable increase due to high demand and concerns over gross harvests.
