The Association of Oilseed and Wheat Producers (Anapo) in Bolivia has reported a significant decrease in grain production due to recent droughts and frosts. The production is projected to drop by 1.3 million tons, leading to an economic loss of $240 million. The weather conditions have caused substantial productive losses to sorghum, sunflower, corn, wheat, and chia producers. The most affected areas include Pailón, Cuatro Cañadas, San José de Chiquitos, and San Julián, with drought and frost causing damage to 416 thousand hectares of crops, equal to half of the area planted with these crops. Anapo plans to request a disaster declaration to help farmers with debt rescheduling.
