The Ministry of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region in Russia predicts that the grain harvest this season will exceed 3 million tons, an increase of 0.5 million tons from last year. The region has seen a significant increase in domestic market needs for grain, but still has a substantial surplus. The grain yield this year exceeded 24 c / ha, leading to a record gross grain harvest. In the first eight months of 2021, nearly 350 thousand tons of grain and grain products were exported from the region. Over half of the shipments were wheat, and 18 states imported Novosibirsk grain. This year, 1.5 million hectares were sown with grain and leguminous crops in the Novosibirsk region.
