Ukraine imports approximately 100,000 tons of greenhouse vegetables, predominantly tomatoes, annually. Turkey is the primary supplier, contributing to 85% of tomato and cucumber imports, and 2/3 of pepper imports. Poland follows in second place with a 10% share of tomato imports and a third of salad imports. Other EU countries, Georgia, and Uzbekistan are the main suppliers of greenhouse greens, accounting for about 80% of this import. The volume of the Ukrainian greenhouse vegetable market has seen a decrease, alongside an increase in imported products since the onset of the war, with imports expected to reach parity with local products by 2022.
