Guatemala has exported 26 batches of honey this year, amounting to over 110,000 kilograms and valued at 2.25 million quetzales, with key markets being Costa Rica, the United States, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Germany. The southwest region, especially Petén, is a significant honey producer. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, along with the Guatemalan Exporters Association (Agexport), is ensuring the honey meets international health standards and implementing strategies to prevent diseases affecting production.
