The situation has led to the abandonment of livestock farming, with farmers shifting to raising chickens. The article suggests that the livestock industry need to restructure towards concentrated animal husbandry, processing, and consumption along the value chain. It also recommends the provision of livestock insurance by the state and province to support farmers.
