São Paulo, 29/09/2025 - The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, said today that he may meet with the United States Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, to discuss again the American government's tariffs on Brazilian products before the meeting of the G20 finance chiefs, scheduled for October 15 and 16 in Washington.

"I have a trip to the United States for the G20. In the worst case, I believe we will speak there. But maybe before that, the two offices will schedule a meeting. It is possible," Haddad declared in a quick interview with journalists, following his participation in the Macro Vision event of Itaú BBA.

Asked if he would participate in the meeting being negotiated between Presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Donald Trump, Haddad responded that this is a decision of the head of the Executive branch, but that he is at his disposal.
