The article reports on the successful harvest of dragon fruits in Erdemli, a key region for fresh produce in the Eastern Mediterranean. The crop, also known as pitaya, has seen a significant increase in demand and has become an alternative product for lemon and tomato growers. No chemicals are used in its production, and it is self-pollinating. The production volume in the district is approaching 500 tons, with one farmer alone earning 250 thousand liras from an area of one decare. The product is sent to various countries including Istanbul, Russia, Qatar, and Dubai, indicating a high demand.
